Data collection is gathering comprehensive information about your products and entering them into the data pool(s). The data pools are as follows:
- GDSN: Logistic Attributes (e.g. size, weight)
- Marketing Data Pool (MDP): Marketing Attributes (e.g. Marketing copy, number of handles for a faucet, number of volts for
a cordless drill) and Standard Digital Assets (e.g. images, schematics, warranty pdfs)
Once enrolled, there are two methods for entering data into the Product Registry data pools:
- 1. Smart Spreadsheets
- a) This process requires a Microsoft Excel template provided by Big Hammer through the Product Registry website
- b) This template is populated offline at the users own pace and returned to the Data Collection Team
- 2. Product Registry User Interface (recommended for suppliers with less than 50 items)
- a) In order to use this process you must first log into the Product Registry website
- b) Once logged in to the site you can use the User Interface to load product data into the Product Registry
