Data collection is gathering comprehensive information about your products and entering them into the Product Registry Supplier Portal as follows:
- Marketing Data Pool (MDP): Marketing Attributes (e.g. Marketing copy, number of handles for a faucet, number of volts for a cordless drill) and Standard Digital Assets (e.g. images, schematics, warranty pdfs)
- Private Data: Private data differentiates a single retailer's content (e.g proprietary brands, pricing data)
- GDSN: Logistic Attributes (e.g. size, weight)
The Collection Methods
Once enrolled, there are three methods for entering data into the Product Registry data pools:
- Product Registry Web User Interface (recommended for suppliers with less than 50 items)
- Log into the Product Registry to use this process
- Once logged in to the site you can use the User Interface to load product data into the Product Registry
- Smart Spreadsheets
- This process requires a Microsoft Excel template provided by Big Hammer through the Product Registry
- This template is populated offline at the users own pace and returned to the Data Collection Team
- Direct XML Feed "Click here for Enrollment and EULA"
